1. Guest flyers must have a current AMA card and be sponsored by a CFF
member. The sponsoring member is responsible to assure their guests follow
the safety rules of the CFF and the AMA.
Guest passes are issued @ $5.00 per day.
2. Beginner or Novice flyers should identify themselves and seek the help
of Qualified Pilots or Instructor Pilots.
3. Non-members and visitors are welcome and must remain in the designated
safe areas within the chickee hut. Visitors are not permitted on the flight
line or the flight preparation (pit) areas unless accompanied by a CFF
Instructor Pilot.
4. Upon arrival at the field all pilots will store their transmitters
(TX) in the designated impound area.
a. a. Verify and insure the TX power switch is turned OFF.
b. b. All TX’s must have channel # and MHZ ribbon displayed.
c. c. TX’s will not be removed or stored in any other location.
d. d. TX’s shall not be stored inside any vehicle while parked at
the field.
5. Transmitters may not be removed from the impound until a Channel pin,
AMA card, Name and Channel number is displayed on the frequency control
board.
6. A mechanical restraint device must be used whenever a gas or nitro
glow fuel engine is started.
7. Once the engine is started move behind the prop to remove glow plug
battery or make engine adjustments.
8. Check TX and RX range at 100’ with TX antenna down. Insure positive
control movements in the proper direction with no control surface jitter.
Best accomplished with the engine running.
9. Place carpet or tile under engine to protect the grass and catch fuel
overflow.
10. Engines are started facing away from other pilots or spectators.
11. New engine break-ins are completed in the designated engine run-up
and test area adjacent to the field.
12. The current Flight Traffic pattern is established by wind direction.
13. No more than four acft in the air. More than two flyers require a
‘safety observer’ to maintain separation.
a. a. Pilots shall clearly announce intention to taxi and take off. Say
Runway number.
b. b. Follow established taxi pattern to active Runway.
c. c. Recheck control surface movement and direction before starting takeoff
roll.
14. Fly within the CFF approved overflight area - below 400’.
15. Never fly over the pits, chickee hut. parking areas or the lake.
16. When more than one pilot is airborne, Low fly-bys shall be performed
at outer edge of runways.
17. In the event of engine failure on the runway, clearly announce “on
the field” before attempting to retrieve your acft.
18. If engine failure occurs while airborne, clearly announce “DEAD
STICK” and Say your intended landing runway.
19. Limit flight times to 15 minutes or less when more than one pilot
is flying.
20. Remove your pin from the freq control board and impound your TX immediately
after completion of your flight.
